Angry fans poured their rage on the players, following last week's 2-0 defeat at Aluminum, only for the coach to cancel the session.
"Fans have every right to be angry, but what happened is totally unacceptable," the former Zamalek star told FilGoal.com.
The supporters' clash with players was escalated to physical contact with Sameh Youssef, Abdul-Ilah Galal, Hussein Shokri and Reda Shehata.
Basri admitted that the defeat to relegation rivals Aluminum left the Alexandria giants in a critical situation.
"We are now in a situation where we cannot afford to lose anymore points, but the players are insistent to help the team remain in the league," he added.
Ittihad are in 13th place with 22 points, only two off rock bottom duo Baladeya and Suez Cement.
