"Egyptian Football Association (EFA) president Samir Zaher is doing his best to convince France's 1998 team to take part in my testimonial," Al-Sayed told a press conference.
The EFA are set to organize the event as a sign of appreciation to Al-Sayed, who enjoyed a highly successful tenure with Egypt's national team.
The 35-year-old guardian, who earned 110 caps for Egypt's national team, played a pivotal role in the Pharaohs' 1998 Nations Cup triumph.
He was voted the best keeper in the tournament after putting in some impressive displays.
Al-Sayed began his career with Mansoura-based club Dekernes, before moving to Zamalek in 1988.
He had a great success with the Cairo giants, winning with them seven local and continental titles.
In Egypt, Al-Sayed also played for Zamalek's arch-rivals Ahli, Goldi, Ittihad, Masri and ENNPI.
Al-Sayed had two spells in European football. He played for Belgian club Club Brugge and Greek side Akratitos F.C. in the early 2000s.
